Maths Challenge
Every Wednesday as part of our Maths lessons the children will take part in a 3 minute challenge. These progress from number bonds to 10 and 20, through doubling and halving, then onto times table challenges using our 2, 5 and 10 tables. Your child will bring their challenge sheet home, if they have full marks they will receive a certificate in assembly and then move on to the next challenge. If not, they will repeat the same challenge the following week.
Daily Reading
To promote the importance of daily reading, children in Year 2 can earn reading certificates which they will receive in assembly. They can progress from Bronze for 25 reads, Silver for 50, Gold for 100, Platinum for 200, right through to Diamond for 300 reads. Only one read is counted per day, unless they also read with a school adult. Please remember to sign your child's reading record to ensure they achieve their goal.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
Year 2 team
